Residential Waste Collection
Murweh Shire Council provides a kerbside waste collection service for household waste within Charleville, Augathella and Morven.
This waste collection service sees Council collect wheelie bins in each of the towns on designated days each week, please see maps below for your bin collection day.
Tips to Ensure your Bin is Collected
- Place bin on kerbside the night before collection day
- Ensure bin lid will close
- Don't place bin too close to other objects (e.g. vehicles, trees or power poles)
- Ensure bin isn’t too heavy
- Only put household rubbish in bin
What can’t I put in my bin?
- Large metal objects
- Bricks, rocks, soil, concrete
- Builders materials
- Grass clippings
- Paints, solvents, motor oil
- Toxic or corrosive liquid
- Needles, syringes (unless in a sealed rigid container)
Wheelie Bin Replacements
Replacement wheelie bins can be purchased from Council, replacement lids and wheels are offered by Council free of charge. Please contact Council to arrange delivery or collection from the Council Store, all fees must be paid prior to pick up.

Refuse tips are located in Charleville (off Bollon Road), Augathella (off Old Tambo Road) and Morven (off Mt Maria Road).

Containers For Change
The Container Refund Scheme is helping reduce litter and plastic pollution in the environment.
Under Queensland’s new container refund scheme, Containers for Change, people can now return empty eligible drink containers to an approved container refund point and receive a 10c refund.
