Cr Shaun (Zoro) Radnedge

Born and raised in Charleville, Shaun’s roots in the district stretch back over 105 years.  After spending a decade in Toowoomba during the 1990s, Zoro seized the opportunity to purchase a retail business in Charleville, which he and his family have successfully operated for 25 years.

Shaun/Zoro is dedicated to fostering economic development and attracting investment to Murweh Shire.  He is passionate about creating jobs and strengthening the community infrastructure and believes that this is crucial for building a brighter future, especially for the youth, who represent the next generation of shire residents.  Committed to maintaining transparency and openness in Council operations, Zoro strives to deliver exceptional services that make Murweh a great place to live and raise a family. 

Elected to Murweh Shire Council in 2016 and becoming Mayor in 2020, Zoro has helped Murweh Shire Council achieve significant milestones, including:

  •      Securing $8.34 million for the Outback Museum of Australia.
  •      Obtaining $400,000 for park and amenities upgrades
  •      Acquiring $436,224 for the Morven Freight Hub Truck Wash Facility
  •      Facilitating $3.95 million for full broadband connections in Augathella and Morven
  •      Stop Carbon Capture Storage in the Great Artesian Basin (GAB)

Zoro holds several key positions across local government organisations:

  • Deputy Chair of the Southwest Region Organisation of Councils (SWROC)
  • Deputy Chair of the Regional Roads and Transport Group
  • Chair of the SWROC tourism group
  • Member of the District Disaster Management Group (DDMG)

A proud member of the community, Zoro actively participates in various clubs and organisations, such as the Charleville RSL, Warrego Pony Club, Charleville Airfield Museum and Charleville’s junior and senior rugby league clubs. He cofounded the Adrian Vowles Cup, an annual rugby league carnival in Charleville, which aims to keep the sport thriving in the region.

Zoro is married and has three adult children, continuing his family’s long-standing legacy in Charleville.
