Child Safeguarding Community Sessions Coming to the Murweh Region

Local organisations and community groups are invited to attend a free, practical briefing on Queensland’s new child safeguarding laws.

The Child Safeguarding Community Session will help local organisations understand what they need to do to keep children and young people safe under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld).

The sessions are being delivered as part of the Queensland Family & Child Commission’s visit to the region and are open to organisations and groups that work with, support or have contact with children and young people.

The sessions will provide practical information about legal responsibilities, the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme, along with useful resources and next steps.

The sessions are relevant to a wide range of local organisations, including sporting clubs, schools, childcare services, youth and arts groups, community organisations, churches, health and support services, disability and NDIS providers, businesses and others who work with or support children and young people.
