Roads and Infrastructure
Murweh Shire maintains a network of 2677km of Shire roads (of which 360km is sealed), 73km of urban streets in Charleville Morven and Augathella and 720km of Main Roads. Approximately 2317km of these roads are unsealed and conditions of roads can vary depending on the weather conditions.

Extensive areas of Councils local road network were damaged during flooding events in January & April 2024. Network assessments and submissions for funding are expected to be finalised in November 2024. Construction is currently underway with the bulk of the repair works expected to be completed by the end of December 2025. The map below shows outstanding flood damage defects and the status of the associated work packages.
