South West Queensland Fuel Tracker: Plan Smarter, Travel Confidently
Published on 08 April 2026
In response to ongoing fuel supply challenges and community concern around fuel availability, the South West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils (SWQROC) has launched a new regional Fuel Tracker, helping residents, travellers and industry stay informed and plan with confidence.
Developed in collaboration between the six South West Queensland councils of Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, Bulloo, Maranoa and Balonne, this initiative provides real-time visibility of fuel availability across the region.
The Fuel Tracker allows users to quickly check the status of:
- Unleaded fuel
- Diesel
- Avgas
- Jet fuel
By bringing together up-to-date information from across the region, the tracker helps reduce uncertainty, supports informed travel decisions, and reassures visitors that South West Queensland remains open and accessible.
Whether you’re a local, a transport operator, or planning a trip through the outback, the message is simple: Don’t Cancel - Plan Smarter.
This collaborative approach reflects the strength of our region, working together to support communities, local businesses and tourism during challenging conditions.
For our guests, whether you're chasing wide open skies, iconic outback experiences, or your next road trip story, the Fuel Tracker helps you plan ahead so you can focus on what really matters - the adventure.
South West Queensland is open, welcoming, and ready to explore. So fuel up your plans, hit the road, and discover the magic of the outback.
