Planned Burn (Aurora Estate, Charleville)
Murweh Shire Council, in coordination with the Rural Fire Service Queensland, is planning a pile burn at the Aurora Estate Stage 2 development site in Charleville between Friday 1 May and Friday 15 May 2026.
What's Happening?
The site has been cleared of mulga and box timber to allow for the next stage of residential development. The cleared vegetation has been stacked and will now be safely burned under permit so construction can begin.
What to Expect
• Smoke may be visible from parts of Charleville on the day of the burn
• Some residual smoke may linger for a day or two afterwards
• The burn will be fully supervised by Council and Rural Fire Service Queensland crews
The exact burn day will depend on weather conditions and final approval. Council will post confirmation at least 24 hours prior on this page, so please keep an eye out for updates.
