Greyhound Australia has been part of regional communities for over 100 years, with strong ties to western Queensland and a long history of helping people stay connected across long distances.
We understand the unique challenges that come with regional travel, especially for families needing safe, reliable and consistent transport for school, boarding and essential appointments, or during times when alternative travel options are limited.
In partnership with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Greyhound Chaperone Initiative helps support safe travel for young passengers. The initiative was introduced following changes requiring children aged 3 to 14 years to travel with a chaperone, ensuring appropriate supervision and supporting drivers in meeting duty of care responsibilities on our long distance services.

This helps make long distance travel safer and more practical for regional families, particularly where younger passengers are travelling for education.
Bookings under the Chaperone Initiative must be made through the Greyhound Call Centre on 1300 473 946 and are not available online.
