Murweh Shire Council Launches Community Grants Program
Murweh Shire Council is now accepting applications for its Community Grants program, providing support to local charities, not-for-profits, sporting clubs, and community groups. The program aims to enhance the wellbeing, liveability, and vibrancy of the Murweh Shire.
The updated Community Grants Policy ensures a transparent, equitable, and accountable framework for assessing applications, in line with the Local Government Regulation 2012. A new online application form has also been introduced to make applying easier for all eligible organisations.
Eligible applicants must be based in the Murweh Shire, demonstrate clear community benefit, and provide a budget. Council primarily offers in-kind support, such as access to equipment, facilities, or services, while cash grants may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
Types of Assistance
Council primarily provides in-kind support, which may include:
- Use of Council equipment
- Access to Council facilities
- Provision of Council services
In exceptional circumstances, financial (cash) assistance may be considered. All applications are assessed on their merits, and Council retains discretion in determining the type and level of support provided.
