A group of dedicated volunteers are keeping our history alive!
Historic House Museum began life in 1888 and is one of the few ‘Queenslanders' left in Charleville.
Originally built as the National Bank and Manager's Residence, it has since been a boarding house and private residence. The building retains many original features, including the marble fireplaces.
The historic collections include working gramophones, clothing and tools from the town and surrounding stations. The machinery collection includes a Dennis Fire Engine, Rail Ambulance, and a replica Cobb & Co Coach.
At times, visitors to the Museum are treated to a performance by George on the Auto Harp.
