On Monday 26 January 2010 Australians all around the country will celebrate what’s great about Australia. We would like you to help us celebrate what’s great about our community by nominating someone you know for an Australia Day Award.
The Murweh Shire Australia Day Awards will recognise members of our community who have made an outstanding contribution or achievement to the community.
Australia Day Award Citizen of the Year
To be eligible, the person must have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the community.
Australia Day Youth Citizen Award
To be eligible, the person must have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the community and be aged 25 years or under as at January 26 2010.
Australia Day Community Event of the Year Award
To be presented to the most outstanding community event during the calendar year of 2009.
Australia Day Sports Award
To be eligible, the person must have demonstrated sporting achievement and contribution in the sport or recreation arena.
Australia Day Junior Sports Award
To be eligible, the person must have demonstrated sporting achievement and contribution in the sport or recreation arena and be 18 years or under as of the 26th January.
Australia Day Cultural Award
To be eligible, the person must have demonstrated outstanding achievements and contributions in the cultural arena.
