Councillor Cook

Denis was born in Charleville in 1946 to Ern and Lorraine Cook.  Educated at St Mary's School, Charleville and then Downlands College, Toowoomba.  On leaving school Denis worked at Bayards in Brisbane and returned to Charleville in 1968 to work in the family business "Pall Mall" for the next 30 years.  For the last 8 years Denis has been employed by Queensland Health as an operational officer and carer.  Denis is married to Billie and has one adult son, Jamie.

First elected in Murweh Shire in 1991.  Elected as Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Community Services Committee in 2005.  Denis is also Chairperson of the Health & Leisure Centre Committee (a new development for Charleville) and Council's representative to the Chamber of Commerce.  Denis is a life member of Apex for community service.
