Why name a park after a meat ant? Augathella's football team know as the mighty Augathella Meat Ants were fearless in their attack against their opponants. This then earned the town the nickname... "MEAT ANT COUNTRY"
Park features: landscaped gardens, picnic tables, story boards, play ground and the mighty meat ant itself!
The collosal statue constructed of copper, steel and brass by Atherton-based artist Amanda Feher is the focal point of Meat Ant park, built to highlight the diverse history of the town. It is over a million times the size of an actual ant!
